Environmental and Natural Resource Technical Support

Environmental and Natural Resource Technical Support, Marine Corps Force Reserve (MARFORRES), New Orleans, AL – USACE Mobile District

KGS supported MARFORRES in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and Marine Corps and host facility-specific environmental. KGS conducted solid waste diversion audits at 12 MARFORRES facilities around the U.S. targeting recyclables such as paper, cardboard, plastics, C&D waste, and DLA Disposition services items and documented recommendations for improved efficiency in a final characterization report. We developed an ESD Almanac for Cultural Resources and Heritage Assets with details that included descriptions of Heritage Assets, Cultural Resources requirements, trends and accomplishments from previous years, and goals to consider for upcoming years. KGS also developed computer based training modules which included Marine Corps/MARFORRES ECPSOP and Federal regulations/requirements. The team supported the MARFORRES Energy Management System (EnMS) through a data gap analysis and development of an EnMS Update Plan to ensure conformance with ISO 50001 requirements.
