long term monitoring of groundwater

OM&M and LTM at the Former NAWC Warminster, PA – NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic

KGS performed Operation, Maintenance, and Monitoring (OM&M) of the Groundwater Treatment Plant (GWTP); semi-annual and annual groundwater long-term monitoring (LTM) and reporting; and Land Use Control (LUC) Inspection and reporting at four Operable Units (OUs) at the Former Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC) Warminster.  In 2014, KGS was tasked with assessing PFAS constituents in in the GWTP process water.  KGS modified the treatment process to remove PFAS constituents and supported a multi-media sampling program in support of the PFAS Remedial Investigation (RI). KGS designed and permitted a replacement effluent discharge line and outfall structure along a nearby creek as the previous line was constructed in the 1940’s and become was deteriorated. Because the discharge was relocated to a location along the same tributary but closer to the GWTP and within the site boundaries, administrative permitting requirements under CERCLA were not required, allowing the project to be completed on an expedited schedule.
